Petunia is an of import point on my walks around the neighbourhood .
Even though I have horses to hinge on and chore to do , I still feel like I necessitate to take a walk around the neighborhood a couple of prison term a workweek for exercise . Nothing clears my head after a day at work like a stroll throughmy urban agriculture community .

I mostly like to walk into the cragged vicinity just above my block . The plate are comparatively Modern , with “ big ” lots of a 1/2 acre or more . The landscape gardening in the front yards are pretty , and the corner houses usually have horses or other critter I can look at or even confabulate with along my perambulation .
One house about four occlusion from my home is my favorite stop along the mode . That ’s because an endearing piggy I ’ve dub Petunia ( refer after the lady pig in the Looney Tunes cartoons ) lives in the backyard .
My first encounter with Petunia was my favorite . I had n’t noticed her before when clear that yard , which also has somebunniesin a hutch and a favorable palomino gelding . One belated good afternoon after study , I passed the yard and she trip up my middle : the cutest small pig I had ever seen . I stopped and called to her .

Petunia look up at me from her rutting and began tooink oink oinkas she trotted in my direction . I squatted down so I ’d be closemouthed to her level and reached a few fingers through the telegram mesh fence . Petunia made contact with me , her slight pink hooter brushing against my straining fingertip . We portion out a bit .
Any thoughts of ever induce my own piglet are pretty much out of the question , thanks to an unpleasant experience my spouse happen one day when we were visiting some country folk in the mountains . The kindly older duo take in us out for lunch and a drive in their horse - drawn paddy wagon after I interviewed them for an article I was write . After a endearing buggy ride , we come inside for lunch , where we forgather their huge pet slob . The grunter had the run of the house and had no qualms about openly implore from each person as we dined on our tacos and refried beans . Just a few moments with this large pig dribble on his stage while he ate was enough to turn Randy off to the idea of ever having a squealer .
So for now , I get my piggy fix from Petunia , who is always felicitous to see me as I pass by her yard . Maybe she wo n’t be as lovely when she grows up , but right now , in my eye , she is the thinned piggy in all of Norco .
