Letting someone else take the camera to see the garden anew
Today ’s post comes from Erla Richards in Independence , Oregon :
My daughter , Kristen , stayed with me for over a workweek , helping me handle for her pappa . She is an early riser pipeline ( unlike her mother ) , and she strolled through my yard at aurora during the workweek and captured these vignettes of the garden .
Erla has shared her garden with us before ( Erla and George ’s Garden in Oregon — Day 1andDay 2 ) , and it is interesting to see it photograph by someone else .

Sunrise through a lawn sprinkler take on a beautiful Monday morning .
As October began , theseJapanese maple(Acerpalmatum , Zones 5–9 ) leaves were begin to colour up .
A garden sculpture attractively maturate with moss .

A purple salvia ( Salviagreggii , Zones 7–9 or as yearly ) blossom away as the time of year winds down .
The large leaves ofBergenia(Zones 3–8 ) will retain up all wintertime in soft climates , before showing off pink peak in the spring .
Abirdbathis quick to welcome square visitor .

Moss can be an underappreciated feature article in the landscape , but at its good it is lush , rich jet , and surprisingly tolerant of less - than ideal condition . ( Check out our article onusing moss in the landscape . )
A bench wrapped in the lush growth of the garden is still a charming place to sit and enjoy the lulu .
Thebarkof a birch ( Betulasp . Zones 3–7 ) redact an unbelievable view of the landscape beyond .
