She says , “ This two - twelvemonth - sometime combination is planted at “ Gilmore Gardens ” , the name we have dearly apply to our small borough lot in western Pennsylvania , USDA Hardiness Zone 5 . It started from just two XII electric-light bulb , and two repeated pots . Arriving in late April in our Hill garden at the front of our drive , it greet us and all of our visitors . At the top is the vivid risque grape hyacinth , Muscari armenicum(Zones 4 - 8) , whose pleasurably sweet smell carries on the breeze . The silvery , fuzzy shoot of lamb ’s ears ( Stachys byzantina , Zones 4 - 8) are already filling their place for the class , and the purple creeping phlox ( Phlox subulata‘Emerald Blue ’ , Zones 3 - 8) is a great feature all class round as it keeps its evergreen - comparable needles through the insensate , innocent months , covering the undercoat belowRosa‘The Fairy ’ . In the distance is the blueish haze of forget - me - nots ( Myosotis sylvatica , Zones 5 - 9 ) , one plant that is a theme in our spring garden . All of these plants have multiplied toppingly in just a couplet of years with a little help . ”Thanks , Julie , for apportion this little touch of leaping with us !
