" I moved into this home in 2008 , a few geezerhood before turning 50 year former . Never having been a serious gardener , but missing the lush beauty of Vancouver Island , I resolve I wanted a G that prompt me of that dish . In 2009 , a dreadful windstorm took down eight trees from our yard , including a Brobdingnagian pine tree Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree just 8 - 12 feet from the back of the house . Once the tree diagram debris was removed , my husband suggested that instead of withdraw the ambo , why not make a flowerbed around it . I care the theme , so I did . That was the start of my backyard oasis . I eventually impart flowerbeds down the length of the fencing , but being a beginner , I did n’t really know what I want . After that was done , I learned that I liked being able to see the flowers along the fencing from my kitchen window , but everything seemed to flower at once . So , I had a calendar month of canonic efflorescence , then a issue of hebdomad of flowers , then mostly just gullible again for the rest of the summer . So , in 2015 , I palpate quick for a major overhaul . I knew what I wanted and had all the plants I needed to extend the blooming season . So I poke everything up , increased the size of the flowerbeds , giving it an attractive breaking ball , and set everything in position . This summer , my dreams came alive . It ’s been beautiful and my married man and I were thrilled with the result . "
