How to Make Dogs From Boots
Dog Boot Inspiration
I first watch this thought when UK artist David Kemp createdthese fantastic dogs from spare miner ’s boots . I love them . And the project has been on my originative to - do wish listing since then . It took all this clock time to find cheap boots , all in the same colour and style , at the thrift shop . It ’s a totally goofy yet fun project and I enjoyed making it . chapeau pourboire to David Kemp . His art is mythologic .
See How It’s Done
First , watch the TV instructions for a good overview . And see the dog base on balls !
I can not call this a traditional tutorial because there are so many dissimilar boots out there and no two will be cut and arranged the exact same means .
And , although the labor is not really complicated , it ’s difficult to identify some of the steps !

I will , however , share my lead for make this pup , so you’re able to make your own . I ’ve provided a video and slew of pic to help you .
The magnanimous concern is making a improper cut and bust up a boot — although there ’s probably a way do adapt to such bloopers .
To take the pressure off , get a few extra boots or , better still , do some mental testing cutting with flat solid of paper to be certain they will equip as desired .

Here ’s everything I used to make the dog .
Step-by-Step Instructions
1Plan Your Dog
First , plan how you will place the boot . You could utilise iron boot of various sizes like I did , or all the same . Just make certain the four ramification boot are all similar .
2Make a Frame
I used a piece of 2×4 and some 1×2 wood to make a physical structure , four wooden leg , and a neck opening support . Size them accord to your boot . I made mine so it was just a few inch taller than the leg boot .

stop up them to the wooden leg with small wood screws .
The tail , body , and neck and promontory are made from 2 - 3 boot .

4Create Tail and Body
In this next pic , you may see the butt boot . I disregard it right down the heart of the back , and then around the ankles ( a few inches ) , from back toward the front . Test before you cut ! Use a piece of paper of theme to test out the best cut first .
The tail boot is secured to the figure with a 2″ wood screw in the fillet of sole , right into the Sir Henry Wood .
5Make Dog Head
The head is made from two boots ( top of head boot and low jaw / neck boot ) . The neck boot has some cut to help it contour to the body . I also added an extra part of boot to better conceal the area where the neck and body ( tail charge ) meet .
Before attach the top the boot ( top of head ) , do the cuts for the auricle and top of heading ( see below ) .
Then attach it with a screw to the low head iron heel . The last step is to pen up over the top question flap ( more on this below ) and secure them in station .

To finish the head ( when it has been secured to the jaw / neck boot ) , the back fluttering ( heel of boot ) is fold up down into the boot ( toward the front ) and then the big front objet d’art is folded right over it , and down the back , forming the top and back of the head . Secure it in place with a jailor into the sole ( at back of boot ) .
Here ’s the back of the top dog . It kind of take care like a goat !

6Add Finishes Touches
I added two screws to the meridian of the capitulum because they were sticking up too much . Your dog might have ears that should stick up : depend on the breed .
Test out different alternative for eyes . Dog eyes are essentially a solid colouration without White showing . I used the recitation to make trap for the eye deadbolt .
If the field where the neck opening boot joins the body / tail boot looks bare , add an extra piece of boot overlapping the two . I used nuts and bolts at these joins both for conceit ( I like the steampunk looking ) and to keep things secure .

The tongue is a piece of red belt . I used a bandana alternatively of a neckband , as all the stylish dogs wish to do .
And that ’s it . If you did it right , your hound will walk like mine does ( see TV , above ) .
